We begin by uncovering what music therapy actually involves, and explore whether this path might be right for you.Through our foundational training, you’ll gain an understanding of music therapy in theory and through practical work. We help you to then design and lead your own community singing or music-making group inspired by Neurologic Music Therapy™ principles.
Whether you’re simply curious about music therapy or already know that it’s what the future holds, our courses, created and led by This Inner Voice Founder and Clinical Director Serenna Wagner, offer lovely, supported opportunities to learn, grow, and work out your next steps.

I recently attended an event led by Serenna, and I was truly impressed. The workshop was well-structured and provided the tools I needed to get started with singing therapy. Serenna skillfully guided us through each step, showcasing how fun and accessible this practice can be for both me and my clients.
An informative and interesting workshop with lots of practical ideas. I loved this workshop and Serenna's video and audio examples in the webinar were so beneficial in learning to apply Melodic Intonation Therapy™ to functional phrases.

Not so long ago, I was working primarily as a peripatetic music teacher and part-time performer, feeling somehow stuck in second gear (as the song goes!) I enjoyed my work but there was definitely an increasing sense that something was missing along with a lack of opportunities to develop. I felt as though my full potential was not being realised in roles that I began to find limiting.
Fast forward to today, and I now run a thriving music therapy practice where my associates and I help people to rehabilitate after a brain injury using specialist techniques delivered through singing and music making. I look forward to my work every day and I am able to create opportunities for others, and bring vital and beautiful help to families who really, really need it.
It may be that you are not looking for a complete career change, perhaps just a way into using music therapeutically and adding community musicianship skills to a portfolio career - as a wonderful new string to your bow. Wherever you are at the moment, we would love to support you along the way and help you to find out more about this fantastic modality.
The Flight framework can be undertaken as one, ongoing experience or each course delivers a standalone transformation, if you’re not ready for everything just yet..
We start with helping you to understand more about what music therapy really is and how it helps people, and whether it may be a fit for you. ‘Soar’ takes you into some powerful, foundational training in the concepts, principles and mechanics that are at the heart of this unique modality.
In the ‘Songbird’ part of the framework, you will learn how to design and lead your own community singing or music-making group. It may be that you would like to go on to full, professional training from here, or this work can inform current practice and add valuable new skills to your portfolio. In either event, we have ‘Sanctuary’ an ongoing mentorship programme to support you as you progress.

Heed the call! If you are here, then there has been a growing voice inside you and it’s getting louder all the time - and it’s telling you that there’s more to your music - a lot more - and this is where it begins.

You’ll explore what it means to use music as a tool for connection and healing today, with all the science and evidence we now have behind us and you will truly start to see whether this path feels right for you in the long term.
Signal is currently available at the introductory offer price of £37.00. This is an ideal opportunity to get to know our teaching style and pick up some brilliant advice about how to move forward.
Here we begin to build your foundations. Through guided learning and practice, you’ll come to understand how music can support emotional and neurological wellbeing through theoretical and practical work in both psychodynamic and Neurologic modalities.
The course is delivered by Serenna who will guide you through the foundations of music therapy in a 10-week course that includes both theoretical knowledge and practical sessions where you can begin to hone your skills and spread your wings..
It’s time to take flight. You’ll design and implement your own community singing and music-making programme, bringing people together and helping them in lots of different ways. A client recently told me that our group for people living with Parkinson’s Disease was ‘the highlight of [her] life’.
This beautiful programme will furnish you with everything you need to create and lead a fantastic, life-enhancing group. Serenna will help you to build something really special and you will leave feeling confident and ready with all the resources you need.
Continue to flourish through ongoing mentorship, resources, and a supportive community to help you grow and sustain your work. We offer specialist training and in-person retreats. We are excited about continuing to support you along the way.
